Chokecherry Bed and Breakfast is located on the Mickelson Trail, in Hill City SD

Directions: Business to trail: simply follow Major Lake Dr. around to enter football field parking area where people park for events, but continue along the lakeshore to the ‘little building’ after which is the bridge to cross that meets the trail.

Open approximately April 1 through November 21, but other dates may be considered.

In-home cabin style lodging with personal entrance and private bath. Two accommodations available—one has a covered porch with an electric grill; the other has a patio with a charcoal grill and fire pit. Our personal living quarters are under the same roof as the two in-home cabins, for a total of three private units.

With the standard modest rates, we supply a basket of takeaway style breakfast snacks, which will include (depending on length of stay) such things as fresh fruit, nuts/dried fruits; organic whole grain/oatmeal packets, organic pop tarts, bagels; hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cheese, milk, etc. An upgrade supplies a more substantial (or just different) hot breakfast. The basket is actually quite substantial, and we provide as much organic as is feasible.

We cannot accommodate smokers or pets/animals of any kind, no exceptions. We can accommodate children, however each in-home cabin has one queen size bed.

Mickelson Trail

Just south of Lead, 11 miles from the trail's northern end, the trail splits into two routes for a few miles. The western option "fantail loop" includes the Sugarloaf trailhead, and is about two miles longer than the eastern option. These two routes converge back into the single trail about two miles north of Englewood. Map mile markers and distances are based on which route is selected above.
