Ripple Creek Campground is located on the Mickelson Trail, in Lead SD

Directions: Located on the trail, about 1 mile south of the Dumont trailhead

Open year round, but take reservations by phone in our 'off season' which is mid-October to early May

Our campground offers a communal grilling area with two grills and a pizza oven. We have a communal firepit, a common area for lounging, playing games, or to simply stay dry. We have a shower house with facilities and hot showers. We also offer a self-serve coffee bar free to guests staying. We have many camping supplies, snacks, and quick meals available for purchase for guests and trail go-ers. Anyone on the trail is allowed to purchase items if they would like, however our common areas, like the shower house, pavilion, grilling area, and fire-pit are for guests that have paid to stay. Pets allowed, with max of 2 dogs per reservation

Mickelson Trail

Just south of Lead, 11 miles from the trail's northern end, the trail splits into two routes for a few miles. The western option "fantail loop" includes the Sugarloaf trailhead, and is about two miles longer than the eastern option. These two routes converge back into the single trail about two miles north of Englewood. Map mile markers and distances are based on which route is selected above.
